Retail Repurchase/CIS Officer

The Jamaica Central Securities Depository (a subsidiary of the Jamaica Stock Exchange) seeks to identify a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Retail Repurchase/CIS Officer

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

       Overseeing and ensure the proper administration of CIS and Retail Repo Instruments and records.

      Ensuring that supporting documentation relating to daily transactions conducted by Fund managers and Dealers are          received in a timely manner and have been properly executed.

      Maintaining schedule of securities maturity.

      Reconciling all assets held in trust.

      Preparing bank account balances for submission to Fund Managers.

      Entering daily transactions to be submitted for verification and approval.

      Preparing daily and monthly reports to be submitted for verification by the supervisor.

      Addressing client queries and resolve issues accordingly.

      Facilitating the onboarding of new clients.

      Maintaining clients’ assets and records

Requirements

The successful candidate would have attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline. Candidates with three years or more of experience in trust administration, fund management or similar functions will be preferred.

Specific Knowledge

(i)               In-depth knowledge of administration functions of the CIS and Retail Repurchase Market

(ii)             Working knowledge of the FSC’s guidelines and Trustee Regulations

(iii)            Working knowledge of Stock Exchange and JCSD Rules & Regulations

(iv)            Sound knowledge of the operations of Capital Markets

(v)             Knowledge of the Securities Act and Regulations and of the Unit Trust Act

 Specialised Techniques/Learned Disciplines

(i)                Strong financial, analytical and conceptual skills

(ii)               Strong communication, planning & organization skills

(iii)              Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels

(iv)              Ability to prioritize tasks and operate with minimum supervision

(v)               Excellent computer skills
