VACANCY – RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEER (SOLAR PV & WIND ENERGY)

Williams Solar, an established local Renewable Energy EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor located on the island of Barbados, specializes in the engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy (RE) systems. We are in search of a Renewable Energy Engineer who will become a strong contributor and make a difference in the operations.  In this capacity, you will be responsible for the design and supervision of renewable energy systems such as Solar PV and wind energy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Prepare complete system designs for residential, commercial and industrial scale Renewable Energy (RE) systems
• Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information
• Maintain quality, reliability, and safety standards for design, which includes ensuring all work complies with applicable local and international codes and regulations
• Interface and provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of materials to the procurement team to procure materials and services as needed
• Provide key team members with engineering support as needed
• Travel to multiple projects to conduct site visits for project development, QA/QC during the installation progress and commissioning
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Undergraduate degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred).
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a similar role
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to as part of a team.
• Advanced AutoCAD user and experience with cloud-based design software such as Helioscope
• Familiar with safety protocols, regulations, and compliance standards in the energy sector.
• In-depth knowledge of battery energy storage technologies, control systems, and relevant industry standards.
• Strong attention-to-detail and excellent organization skills
• Experience with estimating and designing RE systems.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
• Competence in PVSyst would be an asset.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• Strong knowledge of wind energy, photovoltaic systems, NEC code requirements and good construction practices.
• Project management experience and/or certification would be an asset.
• Valid driver's license.
