Registered Nurse/ Midwife
The BVI Health Services Authority (a client-centered healthcare organization) invites qualified and professional applicants for the position of Registered Nurse/Midwife (Community Health). Directly involved in the implementation of Family, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health Program to include activities such as antenatal and postpartum care; normal deliveries; family planning; immediate care of the newborn management of post-partum hemorrhage immediate identification and referrals of complicated pregnancies/deliveries. Provides promotive, preventative, curative, and domiciliary care to clients and families within a defined Health area\ community. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams’ decision-making regarding the management of clients. Conduct community health assessments to identify and prioritize health problems and develop interventions. Assist in conducting disease surveillance (communicable and non-communicable).

Minimum Requirements:
Educational/Training Requirements
v Bachelor of Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing/ Certificate in Nursing
v Certificate in Midwifery
Experience
v Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse Midwife in a Community Health setting
Licenses/Certificates
v Registered and licensed with the General Nursing Council of the British Virgin Islands
v Registered Nurse/Certified Midwife.
v Registered and licensed in country of origin
v BLS trained and certified
Knowledge, skills and abilities
v Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
v Knowledge of midwifery theory, procedure and standards.
v Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs.
v Ability to perform patient assessment and triage.
v Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
v Knowledge of gynecological health issues and trends.
v Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Physical Demands
v Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 21 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
v The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
v Persons will be expected to participate in home visits

SALARY: $45,645.00 - $59,295.00 Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
