Quality, Health Safety Officer

SUMMARY

The Quality, Health and Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that the workplace complies with all environmental and food safety regulations and standards. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the primary point for internal audits, pre-operation audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews of all quality processes and report any deviations and non-compliance to the QHSE Coordinator.
  • Ensuring that all health and safety protocols, as well as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, are followed.
  •  Coordinating with process owners and department heads to resolve all Corrective Action Requests.
  • Updating the Document Management System to reflect changes in document development, review, and revision as required.
  • Assisting with supplier management program by conducting supplier chain inspections.
  • Assisting with identifying training needs, implementing training, and documenting as required.
  • Performing in-process and post-process quality sampling and visual inspections of incoming materials.
  • Assist in implementing the company's HACCP program and monitor all critical control points.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee product inspection and testing for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Assist operations by monitoring and documenting quality levels, CSR, environmental, and health and safety KPIs.
  • Investigate product quality reports, ensuring resolution per company guidelines and regulations.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures as necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the company's HACCP, OSH, and environmental management system.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the company's HACCP pre-requisite program, including pest control, sanitation, and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitoring of warehouse activities as required by internal procedures and providing reports to the QHSE Coordinator.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An Associate degree in OSH, Food Chemistry or a relevant discipline.
  • Working experience in a food manufacturing establishment

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Expert knowledge in the implementation of quality systems (HACCP, IS0 22000 and IS0 450001).
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
