The Quality Assurance Technician is required to conduct verification activities to ensure critical areas of the production processes adhere to the established requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare samples for tasting; manage and maintain the Sensory Program on the shifts
  • Manage and maintain panellist on the team
  • Conduct verification of all critical process parameters, namely but not limited to product coding and finished product verification mainly as it relates to the Blow Moulding Process
  • Prepare solutions and samples as required to ensure effective process verification
  • Provide independent oversight of processes, verify compliance to company standards and policies (Quality, Food Safety, OSHE), and effectively communicate when there are deviations from standards
  • Calibrate, maintain and operate standard equipment
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Document Control System through Intelex Software
  • Responsible for conducting process audits as requested by QA Manager/ Supervisor
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities
  • Assist with Statistical Process Control
  • Provide recommendations for improvement of processes
  • Prepare the relevant reports, presentations, update manuals and documents as required
  • Any other duty as may be assigned within the scope of the job

   JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Associate of Science Degree in the Natural Sciences with passes in both CAPE Units 1 & 2  or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge in a food production environment with previous laboratory experience would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports with the ability to/ communicate with varying staff levels
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and time management skills
  • Meticulous, with the ability to work on own initiative within a demanding environment
  • Advanced competence in the use of MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
