The successful candidate will provide support to the Logistics & Supply Chain Manager by carrying out functions to ensure the company’s raw materials, finished goods, packaging and other supplies are cost-effectively procured and available in a timely manner.

PURCHASING/ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

 

ROLE & CORE FUNCTION

The successful candidate will provide support to the Logistics & Supply Chain Manager by carrying out functions to ensure the company’s raw materials, finished goods, packaging and other supplies are cost-effectively procured and available in a timely manner.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

 

  1. Assist in the procurement of  raw materials, finished goods, packaging and other supplies

-        Ensure MOL are maintained

-        Monitor stock movement including external locations

-        Conduct periodic checks on inventory  and report on discrepancies

  1. Maintain good relations with vendors

-        Negotiate best prices

-        Vendor search

-        Assist with conducting Supplier audits

  1. Assist in the preparation of costing  for products
  2. Preparation of Purchase orders

-        based on  submitted requisitions

  1. Liaise with  Govt. and regulator y bodies to satisfy requirements

-        Preparation of permits

-        Renewal of licenses

  1. Administrative functions

-        Liaise with customs broker in relation to duties and other charges

-        Liaise with shipping line and consolidators

-        Basic book-keeping

  1. Any other duties

  • Excellent organization and coordination skills
  • Ability to multitask

  • Excellent & effective communication skills (verbal and written)

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATION

 

1st Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Associate Degree or Diploma in Business Administration

HACCP awareness

Knowledge of GMP’s

Food Handlers’ Permit

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Police record

2 written references

 

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one years’ working experience would be advantageous.
