The Public Area Manager is responsible for the proper working conditions of the entire hotel including Guest rooms, public areas, food and beverage outlets, sports facilities, back-of-house areas, and Team Member facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day to day cleaning of hotel public areas.
  2. Perform routine inspections of all public areas, service areas, and storerooms.
  3. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  4. Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and according to time of day.
  5. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  6. Assign duties and coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
  7. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.
  8. Clean public areas in emergency situations.
  9. Efficiently manage stock control and the maintenance of all equipment.
  10. Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory.
  11. Report all maintenance defects and follow up with maintenance.
  12. Report all lost and found articles immediately to the Security Manager.
  13. Responsible to Check staff grooming and hygiene.
  14. Responsible for the performance appraisal (evaluation) of staff
  1. Responsible for delegating staff to areas of concern.
  2. Maintain a regular and complete advance scheduled programme for cleaning public areas.

Any other related duties assigned.

 

Experiences & Qualifications:

Minimum 1 to 3 years work experience as a Public Area or Housekeeping Management within the hotel industry. Computer literacy and previous experiences using property management systems are an advantage.

•             A passion for delivering exceptional levels of Guest service

 

The candidate should ideally have a diploma in Housekeeping and vocational training in hospitality.
