Duties and Responsibilities: - Supervises staff to manufacture products, and organizes and monitors workflow to ensure efficiency and target achievement.
- Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Organizes batch cards, orders required materials, organizes product transfers and material returns, conducts regular floor stock and submits all completed documents in a timely manner.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains a high degree of visibility and access to production employees throughout the workday;
- Performing daily inspections of the production plants to ensure plants are maintained in a clean, safe & sanitary condition.
- Perform administrative functions such as developing and maintaining department databases, google sheets, preparation and distribution of routine production reports as well as development of SOPs and checklists.
- Drafts and conducts Performance Appraisals with production staff.
- Liaise with Quality department re: production quality issues and carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Conforms to and enforces all established departmental and company policies, procedures and objectives, GMPs, food safety and HSE site protocols;
- Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as required by the Production Manager
- Undergo any job-related training required by the company;
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: - Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Management, Engineering or related field preferred;
- Certificate in Supervisory Management or previous experience at a supervisory level;
- 3-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment at a supervisory level;
- Time & process management skills and the ability to delegate
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Strong communication, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
