Internal Auditor (FMG AS 3)

INTERNAL AUDIT  

The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seeking to identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will ensure:

• Annual unit operational plans and budgets
• Audit plans and programmes
• Internal audit charter and manual
• Internal audit consultation recommendations
• Comprehensive and accurate working papers
• Audit reports and recommendations
• Follow-up activities carried out and monitored

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The position requires any of the following qualifications/experience:

• Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CPA, CA) or equivalent qualifications.
• At least eight (8) years auditing experience including four (4) years at a managerial level, with at least 3 years in the public sector.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

The position requires any of the following knowledge/skills:

• Excellent knowledge of auditing standards, principles, practices and procedures including value for money audits.
• Excellent knowledge of the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act and associated Regulations
• Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications, including auditing software
• Knowledge of the public sector operating environment, public finance and legal framework
