Public Procurement Officer (GMG AM 3)
PROCUREMENT
The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seeking to identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will ensure:
- Draft Purchasing Policy and Procedure documents prepared
- Draft Reports, spreadsheets, illustrations and other documents prepared
- Correspondence typed/composed
- Unit schedules prepared and maintained
- Travel schedules/reservations/appointments
- Meetings/events (including tender) arranged
- Minutes prepared
- Calls, mail and visitors processed
- Purchasing and other pertinent records maintained
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The position requires any of the following qualifications/experience:
- First Degree in Administrative Management or equivalent qualifications
- Procurement certificate
- At least three (3) years working experience in a similar position
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
The position requires any of the following knowledge/skills:
- Sound knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Good knowledge of the organization’s policies and operations
- Basic knowledge of purchasing principles and practices
- Basic knowledge of GOJ procurement regulations, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of record keeping and records/file management techniques
- Knowledge of the operation of standard office equipment, including photocopiers, fax machines
- Knowledge of relevant computer packages including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation
