The Principal Purchasing and Supply Officer works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the responsibility for procurement, purchasing, storage, supply and stock control functions of the Ministry and the disposal of surplus Government equipment. The post holder will also be responsible for placing over 2,000 orders annually, overseeing over 1,000 consolidated customs entries, storage of 14,000 inventory items, and the acquisition of all Government vehicles as mandated by the Finance Department and Head of the Civil Service, under direction of the CFO.

 

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or relevant field of study or a Professional Designation in Supply Chains Management such as Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP or equivalent. The applicant must also have five (5) years relevant experience which should include procurement inventory management for a medium to large multi-faceted organization alogn with at least three (3) years’ experience supervising staff.
