The selected candidate will be responsible for recruitment, managing, training, planning, directing and controlling all operational resources to ensure efficient management of pickups and delivery of packages. You must be able to work and reside in Guyana legally.

The incumbent will be accountable for the supervision of several teams to ensure that every package is picked and delivered within the Service Level Agreements (SLA). The position holder will be responsible for implementing quality management and other regulatory compliance strategies, in line with company policy.

 

KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • Continuous improvement:

Supports the development of a culture of continuous improvement by consistently measuring the internal and external factors which drive business opportunities.

 

  • Customer Service:

Ensures constant engagement with the identified customer base to facilitate excellent service delivery and go beyond service expectations to assist customers by implementing mutually beneficial solutions.

 

  • Logistics Management:

Ensures efficient coordination of package delivery and driver performance.   

 

  • Warehouse improvement:

Optimizes Warehouse capacity, inventory and floor utilization. Recommends measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.

 

  • Safety:

Supports the advancement of the organization’s safety culture by ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.

 

  • Operational Effectiveness

Identifies deficiencies; make suggestions for corrective action; monitor the response and measure the result of training initiatives.

 

  • Policy Compliance:

Ensures compliance with all legislative and operational policy requirements. 

 

  • Reporting:

Ensures the delivery of weekly and monthly operational reports, with a view to supporting effective data analysis and decision-making.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 

You must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Administration or equivalent, along with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a logistics environment with a minimum of three (3) years in a Managerial position.  Prior experience in a courier/ express/ parcel delivery company is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of the courier operations process.    Working knowledge of warehousing operations and systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, is essential.

 

You must have experience in developing strategic plans and process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and possess strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills.   A proven track record of driving key performance indicators to maximize profitability is preferred.
