POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network and security infrastructure, with a particular focus on server environment management. This role ensures the secure and efficient operation of the company’s network and systems, supporting business operations across all locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network management, system administration, and patching protocols to protect our systems and data from vulnerabilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Network Infrastructure Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust network infrastructure that supports the company’s business operations.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the network for maximum efficiency and reliability.
Systems Administration:
- Administer and support Windows servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and server roles and features.
- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery testing, and ensure data integrity.
Patch Management:
- Develop and execute patch management strategies for operating systems, applications, and firmware.
- Monitor and apply security patches and updates to servers and network devices in a timely manner.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices to protect the network, and systems from threats.
- Ensure all systems comply with industry regulations, company policies, and security standards.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, etc., or similar are preferred.
TRAINING
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering/management, and systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with network management, system administration, and patching protocols, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
