Network Administrator

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform planning and design for network capacity needs for existing and future network requirements.   
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
• Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment such as hubs, switches, UPS, etc.
• Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, printers, and other network appliances.
• Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing performance statistics and reports.
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilisation, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
• Diagnoses problems and performs equipment repairs or upgrades when appropriate.
• Create and maintain network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records documentation.
• Conduct testing and develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and restore systems related to network functionality.
• Manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, Virtual Private Networks, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems.
• Troubleshooting network issues or outages
• Providing technical support to sure the reliability of the Television network
• Providing technical support to end users
• Performs any other duties which are incidental or consequential to the above, as may be assigned by the Head of Department or representative.
