The Merchandising Manager is responsible for managing a team of Merchandising Supervisors to maximize customer service in retail outlets. The manager would also manage the resources of the department to ensure maximum productivity achievement of departmental goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee and participate in the coordination of merchandising activities.
  • Ensure the weekly schedules for the merchandising team are completed and reviewed.
  • Build and promote strong relationships with customers.
  • Provide feedback and solutions for the continuous improvement of the department’s service, efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain and manage the department by overseeing the recruitment, selection training and developing personal growth opportunities for employees with the assistance of the HR Department.
  • Develop staff through coaching, counselling,discipline and accountability.
  • Ensure efficient service by developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analysing and resolving quality and customer service problems; recommending system improvements.
  • Develop rapport with external and internal stakeholders by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities.
  • Report on departmental activities, issues, plans and performance to Senior Management.
  • Work closely with sales and brand teams to better serve our customers.
  • Manage Merchandising Supervisor to ensure the flawless execution of merchandising goals.
  • Develop a handbook and training programs to ensure merchandising excellence. Through the maintenance of planograms, daily priority, list and merchandising audits
  • Assist in other areas of work based on the needs of the department and any other area as necessary in support of Company activities.
  • All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed in accordance with the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) policies and practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business Management with emphasis on Marketing.
  •  Supervisory Skills Required

  • Microsoft Office Suite
