The mission of the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago is to safeguard the public interest by regulating the professions of Nursing and Midwifery. This is accomplished through the Council's legal responsibilities, which include: Registration, Enrolment, and Disciplining of Nursing and Midwifery personnel trained both locally and abroad. Additionally, the Council is responsible for establishing and monitoring standards for Nursing and Midwifery Education and for maintaining the integrity of these professions.
The Nursing Personnel Act provides for the registration of various categories of professionals, including Advanced Practice Nurses, Midwives, Nurses, Nurse Interns, Nursing Assistants, and other recognized specialties, as well as addressing related matters.
The Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago seeks an experienced and dynamic Registrar to serve as the Secretary of the Council and manage key regulatory and administrative functions.
