The EMBD Company Profile

The Estate Management and Business Development Company (EMBD), formed in 2002, is a wholly – owned State Enterprise under the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and is responsible for the management of the former Caroni (1975) Ltd. lands.

The EMBD, within its mandate of management of these lands, is also responsible for stimulation and facilitation of new business activity in several areas, including residential and agricultural estate development.  The EMBD is currently the manager of seven (7) blocks of agricultural land, intended for the cultivation of suitable crops for sustainable agricultural development.

Another critical role of the EMBD is the development of residential sites for the former Caroni (1975) VSEP workers, which supports the objective of our line Ministry, by assisting these VSEP workers in becoming land and home owners, and in building sustainable residential communities.

We are committed to executing our projects efficiently to ensure our stakeholders consistently receive quality service that will benefit the Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and contribute toward continuous socio- economic development.

Human Resources and Administration Manager

The incumbent is expected to lead the Human Resources and Administration Department to ensure the implementation of approved Human Resources Management Systems and EMBD’s information systems, policies, procedures and strategic initiatives of the department.

Corporate Secretariat Officer

The Corporate Secretariat Officer reports to the Corporate Secretary/Compliance Manager and provides the full range of corporate secretarial administrative support in a confidential and ethical manner.

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant provides a high level of administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and would ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations of CEO’s Office.

Corporate Secretary/Compliance Manager

Provides the full range of corporate secretarial services and acts as Corporate Governance Officer who manages the coordination of the activities of Board of Directors and the Shareholders.

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager heads the Finance Department reporting directly to the CEO. The main duties shall be the dayto-day management of the Finance Department.
