Job Title: Manager, Business Development and Promotions (MBD&P)
Reports to: Director, Strategic Planning, Business Development and Promotions (DSPBD&P)

Job Purpose:
The MBD&P will drive business growth, expand market presence, and enhance brand visibility. This role requires strategic vision, leadership, and collaboration to foster partnerships, promote accreditation and training services, and contribute to the overall success of the Agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement annual marketing, communication, public relations, and business development plans.
  • Manage budgets for business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for client acquisition and market expansion.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Organize and execute media events, conferences, and other promotional activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare business proposals and promotional materials to support new business opportunities.
  • Provide strategic technical advice to senior management.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the Agency at corporate events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Support the promotion of the Agency’s satellite office and engage with target markets in Guyana and the Caribbean.

Authority:

  • Prepare and monitor budgets within allocated resources.
  • Recommend risk management strategies and support updates to the Agency’s Risk Management Plan.

Performance Standards:

  • Success in implementing innovative marketing and business strategies.
  • Adherence to budget and financial projections.
  • Effective client acquisition, partnership formation, and business proposals.
  • Timeliness and accuracy in reporting and analysis.
  • Successful execution of marketing campaigns and promotional events.
  • High client satisfaction and retention rates.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability skills.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and communication skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with proficiency in market research and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in financial reporting, market dynamics, and project management.
  • Knowledge of risk management, performance measurement, and benchmarking.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and statistical tools.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • Specialized training in business development, sales, and marketing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management capacity and 4 years in a similar work environment.

Special Conditions:

  • Required to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Local and international travel may be required to represent the Agency at meetings and events.
