Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Banking Operations team in the capacity of:
Manager - Banking Operations
Assist the Head of Operations with improving bank operations, strengthening risk, regulatory compliance and achieving the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Lead and provide strategic direction to the Bank Operations Team in delivering superior client experience by coaching to attain the Sagicor service standards and achieving a high level of operational effectiveness.
Monitor and review operational gaps and compliance deficiencies and recommend or institute measures to mitigate associated risks.
Manage the approval for the onboarding of High & Medium Risk Clients.
Monitor and support activities and initiatives undertaken by the bank to ensure standards are maintained.

As a Manager, you will:
- Prepare and dispatch Circular Letters and other operational communications.
- Maintain an Authorised Signature Booklet and process requests from Group Legal in respect to Court orders, Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer requirements from other financial institutions.
- Review the Delegation of Authorities and Responsibilities and Cash Limits, and Business Continuity Plan management for the Operations Division.
- Develop relationships with service partners to ensure efficient operation of the Division and optimal client satisfaction.
- Coordinate activities related to the completion of tasks assigned to team members to ensure timely completion and acceptable quality standards.
- Review and Provide approval for policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank’s operations.
- Manage and oversee the implementation and distribution of documented:
- Policies, guidelines, procedures, operational changes & forms.
- Requests from external parties and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate activities related to High-Risk Process and provide approval for the onboarding of High & Medium Risk Clients.
- Improve and strengthen internal control environment by addressing control deficiencies highlighted by the Internal Audit Department with respect to policies, procedures, and guidelines and implement of the corrective measures.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications would be an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a bank or another financial institution.
- At least three (3) years working experience in a managerial capacity.
- Ability to provide technical guidance.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent management, supervisory and leadership skills.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheets, word processing.
