The Manager is responsible for Jamaica Contact Centre’s accounting functions, settlements and payments, maintenance of the general ledger, tax compliance and financial reporting.
Accountabilities
Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
The incumbent will be responsible for the accounting of all transactions ensuring the integrity of financial reporting by measuring and monitoring performance through the monthly trial balance review.
Direct the preparation, posting and verification of accounting entries, review reconciliations of bank accounts prepared by the Processing Support Centre (PSC), monitor and maintain expenses within budget ensuring conformity with policy and terms of reference. Manage the daily cash management activities ensuring excess funds are appropriated invested under the direction of BNSJ’s Treasury.
Ensure compliance with tax requirements under the direction of BNSJ’s Manager Group Taxation. Required to compute the various tax computations and submit returns on a timely basis.
Education
An post graduate degree in Accounting or Finance and/or an accounting designation (ACCA/CPA) with at least 2-3 years' work experience in an accounting environment is a prerequisite.
Expert knowledge and understanding of accounting with a very good working knowledge of IFRS.
Computer Literate with a working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Thorough analytical skills, as well as working interpersonal skills, professional judgment and tact in dealing with contacts inside and outside the company;
Thorough organizational and motivational skills and the ability to prioritize/delegate and deal with a variety of tasks and situations concurrently;
Thorough written and verbal communication skills; Thorough ability to manage complex issues in an organized and timely fashion.
