Maintenance Technician - Welding Specialist

A manufacturing company based in Manchester, Jamaica, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician specializing in welding to join their team. If you are passionate about maintaining industrial equipment and ensuring operational excellence, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialize in welding tasks and repairs within the manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Adhere to national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and crawling.
  • Work with 3 phase current and handle starters and isolators.
  • Conduct basic mechanical tasks including changing bearings, tensioning/changing belts, and lubricating machines.
  • Participate actively in day-to-day mechanical tasks.
  • Be available for overtime work during weekdays and Saturdays as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in welding.
  • Proficiency in working with electrical systems and industrial equipment.
  • Awareness of national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage projects and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and crawling.
  • Experience with 3 phase current and working with starters and isolators.
  • Basic mechanical skills, such as changing bearings, tensioning/changing belts, and lubricating machines.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including during weekdays and on Saturdays.
