Our client, a leading luxury hospitality private destination is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Technician.

Key Objectives:          

To maintain and repair the safe, efficient and reliable operation of Fabric, Furniture, Plumbing, Mechanical & Electrical systems.

To carryout reactive and proactive maintenance to the property as instructed to ensure it is well maintained. Carry out all planned preventative maintenance as directed. To assist with any projects or works given to maintenance.

 

Detailed Responsibilities:

Estate management plan (EMP)

  • Carry out Estate inspection check to the internal and external areas of the Estate.
  • Fill in the inspection sheets on Computerized Maintenance System
  • Report back to management any issues found while carrying out the checks
  • Carry out pool checks, and servicing as required by the EMP
  • Carry out servicing as required under the EMP
  • Report daily to the Estate manager to communicate progress on any outstanding issue within the estate.
  • Carry out any minor works or projects as given by management.
  • Carry out inspections and checks to common areas as given by the maintenance manager or supervisor.
  • Record monthly all utilities on the estate and common areas

Maintenance

  • Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive works and ensure it is effective and well implemented
  • Servicing of all equipment as agreed with HOD
  • Adhering to the Health and Safety Guidelines for the department
  • Ensuring the workshops, tools, store rooms, are clean and tidy at the end of every shift.
  • Adhering to the rota set out by your line manager or HOD
  • Maintenance cover and be on call as requested, this will include weekend and evenings
  • Responding to breakages

Electrical

  • Carry out repairs and replacements of installations and appliances within electrical remit and skills
  • Identify possible safety hazards related to poor installation, malfunction or damage of electrical wiring and ensure corrections or repairs are made promptly or reported to HOD.

HVAC/Refrigeration

  • Carry out all necessary repairs and PPM’s are carried out to standard as directed by HOD.
  • Reporting of defects or issues to HOD to ensure breakdowns are escalated to specialist contractor.

Carpentry       

  • Ensure workshop is maintained and kept clean, all machines are operational, and health & safety standards are maintained.
  • Completion of work lists given by HOD
  • Carry out decorating and polishing works to all timber surfaces as directed by HOD

Plumbing

  • Recording and logging water meters in designated areas.
  • Servicing of cold/ hot water services, drainage, sanitary ware and appliances.
  • Carry out repairs of plumbing fixtures.

Pools and Spas

  • Carry out maintenance of pools and spas to company standards, including cleanliness of pools and pump rooms.
  • Recording and maintaining of chemical level control and logging.
  • Ensuring parts and chemical stock levels are maintained and reporting back to HOD before stock levels run low.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance as directed by HOD.

 Grounds

  • Assist in carrying out duties in the Grounds Team in reconstruction of the property as requested by HOD
  • Assist in carrying out duties with the grounds team in their development plan

 Stock Control

  • Carry out monthly stock take/ Inventories of all parts required for each plant as advised by maintenance supervisor.
  • Keep storerooms locked, organised and clean
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure safe storage and handling of volatile items.
  • Ensure good condition, upkeep and appropriate storage of tools and working equipment.

Other Duties

  • Assist with moving any items whenever needed as may be requested.
  • To abide and follow all company policies and procedures and ensure all statutory requirements are understood and followed.
  • To respond to emergencies including fire and accident as outlined in training sessions and departmental procedures.
  • Assist the Property operations in preparation for Hurricanes.
  • To have a clear working knowledge of the Property’s policies and operate within them at all times and to ensure staff awareness of relevant policies.
  • To attend meetings as required and to support the communication process both on and off Property.
  • To co-operate with other departments, management and all business partners to ensure a harmonious working and living atmosphere.
  • To report any problems with staff members to the management.
  • To ensure all work equipment is functional and used in accordance with manufactures and safety guidelines. To report any malfunctions of equipment to your direct report and in absence to management.
  • To support management in ensuring that all health & safety requirements are met and that working practices are monitored for safety where appropriate.
  • To be hands and actively engaged in helping the overall property operations in a general capacity and willing to assist other departments on both property and any other designated location in the as required.
  • When off property, to behave in appropriate manner as a representative of the company.
  • When working on Property to ensure you observe high levels of integrity and professionalism.
  • You shall not, during the course of your employment or thereafter, disclose to any person any confidential information relating to the business dealings of the company, employees or any other matters that may come to your knowledge by reason of your employment. 
  • Be well groomed and representable in uniform (provided by the company) when on duty.
  • Be willing to allow flexibility to work such as extended hours when needed including the weekends and public holidays.

 General Requirements

  1. Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  2. At least three (3) years working experience in a maintenance environment in a luxury hospitality environment is preferred
