MANAGING DIRECTOR

The British Virgin Islands Airports Authority invites suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant position of MANAGING DIRECTOR.

The successful applicant will be required to determine and formulate policies and business strategies and provide the overall direction of the BVI Airports Authority. Applicant must be able to plan, organize, direct and control operational activities at the highest level of management with the help of subordinate managers.  Professional affiliations to recognized institutions a plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:-

▪ Master’s Degree in Aviation Business Management/Administration plus at least 10 years experience in the Aviation field or
 
▪ Master’s degree in Business Administration plus 10 or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience in the aviation field.
 
EXPERIENCE

▪ Diverse experience in the aviation industry with sound airport operational knowledge
 
▪ Staff and budget management and marketing
 
▪ Specialized training and experience in the use of Computers
 
▪ Must have experience in directing and implementing safety management systems

The successful applicant must also possess the following skills:- 
 
▪ Thorough knowledge of Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements.

▪ Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety Legislations.

▪ Thorough knowledge of Aerodromes Policies & Procedures and compliance standards.

▪ Sound knowledge of the NASP and Security Emergency Plans.

▪ Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines under pressure.

▪ Sound knowledge of the Aviation industry and workforce development 

▪ Exceptional judgment, demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing alternative solutions in a fast-paced environment. 

▪ Ability to handle sensitive information with detail and discretion.

▪ Analytical skills – gathering data, analyzing and presenting at senior level. 

▪ Strong project management skills. 

▪ Ability to perform with a sense of urgency; set aggressive goals and create accountabilities to ensure departments are productive. 
 
Salary will be determined commensurate with qualification and experience. Benefits to include entertainment and travelling allowances and a company assigned vehicle.
