 Position: Laundry Manager

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager

Primary Objective of Position

The Laundry Manager will assist in overseeing the Linen Program of the Housekeeping Department. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a high level of cleanliness and service standards within the organization. The manager will oversee the linen distribution process, inventory, and assist in developing a linen program that’s effective for the housekeeping department.

Operations Management

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the laundry department.
• Ensure timely processing of all hotel linen, guest laundry, uniforms, and other items.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for laundry operations.

Staff Management

• Recruit, train, and manage laundry staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
• Schedule and assign duties to laundry employees, monitoring their performance and providing feedback.
• Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to maintain service excellence.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished products to ensure cleanliness, quality, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Address and resolve any issues related to laundry quality or guest complaints promptly.

Inventory and Supplies

• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Order supplies and manage budgets, keeping track of expenses and reducing costs where possible.

Equipment Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of laundry equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Schedule regular maintenance and troubleshoot any equipment issues promptly.

Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the laundry department.
• Implement and maintain hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Collaboration and Communication

• Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to meet their laundry needs.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff to ensure smooth operations.

Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of laundry operations, including production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare reports for management on laundry performance and improvement initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position supervises Laundry Attendants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality management or a related field preferred.
• Candidate must have past International 4-5 Star hotel Managerial experience in Laundry operation.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a laundry or housekeeping department.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of laundry equipment, chemicals, and best practices.
• Basic computer skills for managing inventory and preparing reports.
