Overview

The University College of the Cayman Islands is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This position will play a crucial role in the development and execution of projects at the newly established Center of Biodiversity, Innovation, and Sustainability, set to launch in September 2024. The ideal candidate will possess robust project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of projects related to the Center of Biodiversity, Innovation, and Sustainability.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of expectations, timelines, and project status.
  • Manage documentation and project materials, ensuring all are kept current and are accessible to the team and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, adjust resources and timelines as needed, and report on these adjustments to the project lead.
  • Facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring action items are followed up.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Support the project team by coordinating and organizing project activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management or a similar role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a remote environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g PMP, CAPM) 
  • Experience working in an academic or research environment is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • This is a remote position with flexible hours. However, availability for scheduled meetings during business hours is required.
  • Part-time role designed to accommodate varying project needs and timelines.
