Junior Cost Accountant

A distribution company located in Kingston is seeking a Junior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Maintain good cost management within the Finance Unit. 

• Liaise with the warehouse department personnel, in order to keep abreast   of product inventory.

• Coordinate stock counts.

• Ensure cycle counts are conducted on an ongoing basis.

• Review and update standard costings.

• Breakout margin and variance analysis.

• Assisting with the coordination and preparation of the company’s annual   budget and revised budget forecast exercise.

Ideally, a candidate should:

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a professional designation (ACCA III / CMA).

• Have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.

• Have a working knowledge of computers and financial software.

• Knowledge of ACCPAC accounting software would be an asset.

• Have strong knowledge and understanding of Cost Accounting with good working knowledge of IFRS and its applicability to manufacturing   and distribution entities.

• Have excellent analytical, research forecasting and modeling skills.

• Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary is $153,000 per month
