Junior Agronomist

(Market Development Assistant)

H&L Agro- St. Ann, St Mary

(12-month contract)

Purpose of the Role

To support an increase in market penetration and portfolio diversification through executing product development activities, geared at increasing brand visibility and market awareness.

Principal Responsibilities

• Conduct field research and trials
• Establish new and existing products in the in the market
• Coordinate activities related to marketing and promoting products

• Strong orientation towards service and teamwork
• Good analytical, organizational and time management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Power Point and Excel
• Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices, HACCP and other standards
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Working knowledge of pesticide registration and regulations

 Required Education & Experience

• Associate Degree/ Diploma in Agriculture, or
• HEART Trust/NTA Level Three certification in Agriculture Extension Services
• Experience in a similar capacity through internship programs during course of study

 Working conditions

• Extensive travel within designated areas
• Irregular working hours, including weekends and Public Holidays

The right candidate will own or have constant access to a reliable motor vehicle
