We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to work onshore at Georgetown shore base.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Contribute to design, implement, manage, and digitalize the Company's Compliance program.
  • Establish and maintain effective compliance policies, and procedures in line with relevant local laws and regulations, industry best practices and Company's risk appetite to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide regular support to the local Management Team and internal stakeholders within your jurisdiction on various topics such as anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy and protection, export controls and trade sanctions, integrity reporting and investigations, etc.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits within your jurisdictions to evaluate compliance effectiveness and identify areas for improvement and mitigating controls.
  • Act as gatekeeper and ensure that policies and processes are understood and followed within your jurisdiction.
  • Perform third-party due diligence review and actively monitor them.
  • Review contractual compliance provisions in relation to ethics and corruption, privacy and data protection, and export controls and trade sanctions.
  • Identify training needs within your jurisdiction and deliver regular employee compliance trainings.
  • Act as a compliance role model, be a trusted advisor to the local management team and engage with relevant stakeholders within your jurisdiction to share compliance trends and developments and promote a compliance culture.
  • Conduct and/or support internal investigations of alleged violations of the Code of Conduct and other compliance policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the LCCI (Legal, Compliance, Contracts, Insurance) projects and initiatives in line with the Company's goals and objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • At minimum a Master's degree in law or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven(7 ) years of proven cumulated work experience within the compliance and legal fields.
  • Experience working in Guyana within the energy sector and comprehension of local content and laws and regulations will be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Very good command of word processing, spreadsheets and databases (Microsoft Suite)
