Job Description: As a Quality Control Inspector for the construction of an HFO power plant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve inspecting construction activities, conducting tests and measurements, and documenting compliance with specifications and procedures. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve quality-related issues throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities:
1. Quality Inspection and Testing: • Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities, equipment, materials, and installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. • Perform tests, measurements, and evaluations to verify the quality, functionality, and performance of equipment, systems, and components. • Identify deviations, defects, and non-conformities, and work with relevant parties to implement corrective actions. • Regularly monitor and document construction activities, noting any qualityrelated concerns and observations.
2. Compliance Monitoring: • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, permits, and safety standards. • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to verify that the work meets the required quality criteria. • Monitor contractor activities, processes, and workmanship to ensure adherence to approved plans and procedures. • Identify and report any non-compliance issues and collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve them.
3. Documentation and Reporting: • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, observations, and test results. • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and evaluations conducted during the construction process. • Prepare and submit reports on a regular basis to project managers and other stakeholders, highlighting areas of concern, non-compliance, and recommended corrective actions. • Assist in the preparation of final project documentation, including quality control records, as-built drawings, and closeout documentation.
4. Continuous Improvement: • Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements and quality enhancements. • Participate in project meetings and discussions to share insights, address quality-related concerns, and contribute to the overall success of the project. • Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to quality control in power plant construction.
Requirements:
Relevant certifications or technical training in quality control or construction inspection are preferred.
• Proven experience as a quality control inspector in construction projects, preferably within the power plant industry.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques used in power plant projects.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
• Proficiency in using inspection equipment, tools, and software.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with project team members and contractors.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess construction-related quality challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
