Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is part of the ANSA McAL Limited Parent Company Finance Department. The team is responsible for the preparation of the Parent company’s financial statements, internal management reporting and Group Reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely reporting deliverables using the application of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Job Description:
Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation of the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements ensuring adherence to Group and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Prepare/Review assigned monthly and quarterly financial packages in alignment with Group Reporting deadlines.
- Prepare/Review assigned Intercompany reconciliations and monthly uploads in alignment with Group Reporting deadlines.
- Lead preparation and coordination of internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare/Review assigned monthly Audit schedules and supporting commentary.
- Prepare/Review assigned standard monthly journals with supporting documentation.
- Intricate knowledge of Group Blue Book Policies and guidelines to validate accounting treatments.
Management Reporting
- Prepare/Review assigned monthly management reports with recommendations and predictions to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts requirements. This will include compilation of data and analysis for assigned department functions.
- Assist in the budget import process in alignment with Group Reporting deadlines.
- Prepare/Review monthly latest estimate.
Statutory Requirements
- Prepare/Assist assigned Tax computations and returns.
- Prepare/Review assigned V.A.T. computations and returns.
Reconciliation and Analysis of transactions
- Review of assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations; ensuring any differences are investigated and resolved monthly.
- Prepare/Review IFRS 16 calculations.
- Review of assigned Bank reconciliations.
- Review of assigned monthly journals.
- Prepare/Review monthly Income Statement schedules and trends.
- Investigate anomalies in financial information.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A professional accounting qualification from a recognized institution.
- At least seven (7) years accounting experience, of which three (3) should be post-qualification.
- Three (3) years working experience at the same or similar level would be an asset.
- Advanced level of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Office software.
- Advanced level experience with a Financial Accounting package would be an asset.
- Working experience with consolidation financial statement packages and intercompany reconciliation would be an asset.
