The Quality Assurance Officer is required to ensure that the quality of finished products adheres to local and international standards for food safety.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and establish the company's food safety and quality assurance policies and maintain documentation readiness for audits.
  • Ensure that all products meet local and international food safety (HACCP) and quality standards
  • Conduct hazard analyses, identifying critical control points and establish critical limits. Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification.
  • Review customers’ specialised requirements, ensuring product consistency.
  • Train team on quality assurance procedures, good manufacturing, and housekeeping practices.
  • Monitor sanitation and pest control systems for conformance to good housekeeping, health, and safety standards.
  • Conduct internal quality audit for compliance and host auditors and health inspectors from third parties and regulatory agencies.

Desired Competence

  • Degree in Microbiology, chemistry or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Knowledge of Quality Management and food safety systems – HACCP.
  • Knowledge of Sanitation best practices.
  • Expert at data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • High level of creativity and initiative.
  • Excellent traceability, human relations, and communications skills.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Food Handler’s Permit.
