Financial Reporting Supervisor

This role is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process and ensuring that financial statements comply with all regulatory requirements. You will be managing a team of financial accountants and collaborating with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervising the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures.
• Managing a team of financial accountants, including coaching and development.
• Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all balance sheet accounts through regular reconciliations and analysis and maintaining internal controls related to balance sheet accounts and reconciliations.
• Ensuring financial statements comply with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Identifying process improvements and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Providing analysis and support for ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

Collaboration

• As a Financial Reporting Supervisor, you will be collaborating with various departments across the organization, including accounting, legal, compliance, and internal audit. You will also be working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Critical Qualifications/Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with financial reporting software, such as SAGE 300 and Oracle, is a plus.

Education Level Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting designation.
