Accounting Officer - Payables & Receivables

Rhino Jamaica Ltd. is inviting applications for the position of ACCOUNTING OFFICER - PAYABLES & RECEIVABLES

Job Summary:

Under minimum supervision, be responsible for all aspects of accounts payables & receivables for Rhino Jamaica.; assist with checking, approving and posting Inventory Receipts (except  those entered by you) and inventory shipments transactions as needed and assist in other  areas of the Accounts Department as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Accounts Payable & Receivable Ledger.
  • Record and process supplier invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts.Maintain supplier files. Ensure that all imports are supported by stamped customs  documentation, e.g. C82, CARICOM invoice, VAT and Duty receipts.
  • Monitor Outstanding Purchase Orders. 
  • Prepare Petty Cash and credit card Journal Entries.Prepare appropriate costing reports for all imports and save a copy in Marketing Manager’s  Assistant’s directory.
  • Record all purchases of inventory items using IC Receipts processing and save the  transactions; however, do not post. 
  • Prepare and generate customer statements and follow up on all customer receivables.
  • Maintain the Excel spreadsheets for all employee and company expenses. ➢ Prepare all Export Sales Invoices.
  • Invoice export shipments.
  • Clear Cash Vault when designated Accounting Assistant is absent. Maintain a file for all cheque payments for which original invoices were not received and follow up with relevant persons to obtain the original invoices.
   
Education, Experience, Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • ACCA level 1 or above
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Extremely well organized.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-starting and results oriented.
  • Committed to group and team development.
  • Able to handle difficult people and situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing
