POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Human Resources Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and supporting HR functions while ensuring a positive and efficient workplace for all employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implementing organizational development initiatives and facilitating training.
  2. Supporting workforce planning and implementing recruitment strategies
  3. Coordinating job postings, employment contracts, and onboarding activities.
  4. Assisting with the administration of performance management.
  5. Maintaining accurate documentation for employee movements and organizational updates.
  6. Monitoring orientation, onboarding processes, and probation reviews.
  7. Coordinating performance evaluations and tracking development plans.
  8. Supporting managers in coaching, addressing grievances, and conducting disciplinary actions.
  9. Fostering open communication and clarifying workplace policies and procedures.
  10. Investigate employee concerns and propose resolutions.
  11. Planning and executing staff engagement activities, such as recognition events and team meetings.
  12. Overseeing payroll, pension, medical, and related benefits programs.
  13. Collaborating with union representatives to address labor-related matters and maintaining agreements.
  14. Ensuring adherence to labor laws and organizational safety standards.
  15. Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of HR records.
  16. Staying updated on HR best practices through workshops and professional networks.
  17. Establishing strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  18. Performing additional duties as needed to support overall HR and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Organizational Development or related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years’ practical related experience in a similar role with a proven track record of high-performance

OR

  1. Associate Degree in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Organizational Development or related field, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ practical related experience in a similar role with a proven track record of high-performance.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of local regulatory and legislative labour procedures, practices, and frameworks.
  2. Working knowledge in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  3. Working knowledge in executing strategies, work processes and procedures.
  4. Working knowledge of all relevant computer software and other technologies.
  5. Demonstrated ability to think critically, creatively and systemically.
  6. Demonstrated ability to gather data, compile and interpret information and prepare reports.
  7. Effective time and priority management skills.
  8. Excellent human relations and communication skills.
  9. Strong analytical and administrative abilities.
  10. Sound reasoning and good judgement.
