The ideal incumbent is team-oriented, will be required to operationalize HR policies and assist with the execution of strategic HR initiatives in the assigned markets, and to support facilities management.

  • Assist with planning, developing, and implementing strategy for HR management and development across all markets within the Group with direct responsibility for Jamaica and Turks & Caicos (including recruitment and selection, discipline, grievance, counselling, pay and conditions, contracts, learning, training and development, succession planning, morale & motivation, culture and attitudinal development, employee relations, performance management and quality management issues.)
  • Monitor, measure and report on HR metrics and issues, opportunity and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
  • Manage, direct and develop direct reporting staff (Jamaica: Driver/Bearer, Janitorial team)
  • Liaise with the management team of the assigned markets to understand and respond to HR needs
  • Ensure strategies, policies and plans meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality, management, health & safety, legal requirements, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
  • Assist with preparation of HR budgets
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization
  • Support the planning and execution of employee social activities and reward and recognition programmes
  • Assist with developing business planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements
  • Revise and prepare staff handbooks, forms, policies & procedures

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

  • Oversight of stationary and office supplies (ordering, storage and distribution)
  • Handle and direct confidential information in a professional and discreet manner;
  • Organize and schedule meetings, including contacting participants, booking rooms, ordering refreshments, and arranging for parking as required;
  • Make travel arrangements for personnel as required, including booking of flights, hotel accommodation, visas, agendas and necessary contacts, country information, and other necessary preparations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Welfare or related field with certified training in HR
  • Two years’ experience in an HR environment or with responsibility for HR activities (pay & benefits, recruitment & separation, training & development)
  • Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint); knowledge of HRMS is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with clear customer service orientation
  • Unquestionable ethics and reliability
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Analytical and creative thinker, with proven problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and highly accurate
