The team member diligently performs various general housekeeping tasks as instructed by the manager, ensuring a clean and organized environment. They consistently adhere to the health and safety guidelines established by TCI Hospitals to promote a safe and secure workplace for all.

3.   RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensures Supervision of all departments under control.
  2. Plans labour and other resources for continuity of services.
  3. Ensures communication to the team via notice boards, rosters, whatsapp groups and other mediums.
  4. Ensures completion of all monthly departmental quality audits and associated curtain changes and deepcleans.
  5. Chairs monthly meetings with teams in conjuction with Duty Manager and contributes with Meeting Minutes
  6. Maintains a professional manner and high level of customer service at all times.
  7. KPI’s and Quality monitoring.
  8. Produced rosters and timekeeping documentation.
  9. Managers stock levels and stock ordering.
  10. Budget awareness in relation to ensuring all costs are managed efficiently.
  11. Ensuring Best practices at all times.
  12. Ensures all cleaning duties associated with the department are maintained in order to maintain a clean environment and adhere to cleaning schedules.
  13. Ensures MSDS, SSOW and Risk Assessments are maintained and updated as required by the business.
  14. Works closely with Management and IPC to ensure that best practice and excellence is achieved with regards to infection control surveillance and management.
  15. Raises any concerns over Health & Safety breaches in accordance with company Procedure
  16. To create and maintain discipline on a contract site in order that the agreed specification is carried out within set budgets.
  17. Ensures that accurate timekeeping and personnel information is maintained at all times.
  18. Ensures management of laundry services is carried out in line with Interhealth Canada Ltd (ICL) policy.
  19. Follows all universal precautions, blood borne pathogen procedures and uses personal protective equipment as needed while cleaning patient care areas.
  20. Complies with hygiene, health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legislation and ICL practice requirements.
  21. Ensures safe working practices at all times and supports the implementation of best practice policies.
  22. Ensures adequate availability of equipment, labour, cleaning materials and consumables are available at all times to facilitate the effective running of the Domestic, Portering & Laundry Department.
  23. Maintains confidentiality of all information and material received or communicated at TCI Hospitals.
  1. Trains and develops at staff within their remit to ensure compliance, safety and customer care are paramount.
  2. Supports Manager with all Personnel Related functions in the department including, training, mentoring, developing, performance managing and disciplinary action as required.
  1. Attends inservices and participates in continuing professional development opportunities.
  2. Performs other professional duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.

4.   DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

Under direction of the Domestic Services Management; as per routine role responsibilities.

Training

Required

  • High School Graduate (Minimum)
  • Diploma in Customer Service
  • Diploma in Supervisory Management
  • Diploma in Health and Safety Management
  • Diploma in Infection Control

 

Experience

  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Previous Healthcare Experience
  • Experience of working with Diverse Workforce
  • Minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role
