Seeking an experienced Hotel Engineer

Position: Hotel Engineer                   
Reports to: Engineering Superintendent/Manager and General Manager

As a Hotel Engineer you will be entrusted with maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility. Your role is critical in ensuring that our guests enjoy an outstanding experience, and our operations remain financially profitable. You will perform a variety of tasks to the highest standards, ensuring both guest satisfaction and the efficient operation of the hotel.

 Key Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance:
• Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility, including guest rooms, public spaces, and heart-of-the-house areas.
• Perform regular inspections to identify preventive maintenance needs and address them promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all maintenance activities.
• Guest and Team Member Support:
• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues to ensure guest comfort and safety.
• Assess and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment quickly to minimize disruptions.
• Repair and Maintenance Tasks:
• Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work, and masonry.
• Utilize your technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of hotel equipment and facilities.
• Record and report completed repairs and items requiring further attention to maintain detailed maintenance logs.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Maintain clear and effective communication with hotel management and other departments regarding ongoing maintenance issues and improvements.
• Report all completed repairs and any items needing further attention in a timely manner.

 Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar engineering role, preferably in the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
