Salary: TT$20,000

PURPOSE:

The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement strategy for indirect goods and services at the company on a national level. This role will play a key role in centralizing purchases from the functional areas, ensuring  efficiency,  consistency,  and  compliance  with global policies and processes.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Lead and supervise the Indirect Procurement function at the company, including managing a team of buyers and category specialists.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect goods and services, such as technology, marketing, finance, and human capital, in coordination with the Corporate Procurement team where applicable.
  • Ensure  implementation  and  compliance  with  procurement  policies  and  procedures established by the Head Office.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Procurement unit to align global strategies and policies with local needs.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, establish strong relationships, and negotiate favourable agreements.
  • Manage supplier performance, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure service levels meet required standards.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the Indirect Procurement function at the company.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the satisfaction of indirect goods and services procurement needs throughout the organization.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in indirect procurement.

 

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (a master's degree is a plus).

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement, preferably in the retail industry or a similar environment.
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively manage teams and projects.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to negotiate advantageous agreements and manage supplier relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-oriented and ability to make data-driven decisions.
