Our restaurant offers a blend of authentic Caribbean cuisine, warm hospitality, and lively atmosphere. From our elevated vantage point, guests savor a menu crafted with fresh, local ingredients and traditional Caribbean spices. We are on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead our kitchen aiding in the continuation of delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a menu that highlights the best of Caribbean cuisine, incorporating fresh, local ingredients and traditional techniques.
  • Lead and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Develop and implement innovative recipes while staying true to the authenticity of Caribbean flavors.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices whilst implementing and practicing a high degree of HACCP Standards.
  • Control food costs and manage inventory effectively to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  • Assist in creating annual budgets for your department. Also responsible for maintaining cost within or below the established percentages.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably with a focus on Caribbean cuisine or similar culinary styles.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
  • Deep knowledge of Caribbean ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
  • Exceptional creativity and an ability to craft unique and memorable dishes.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Proficient in using technology.
