Primary objective of the job: 

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, The Group Opex Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational expenditure (Opex) activities across Group Entities. This role involves ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of Opex. The Group Opex Controller will work closely with senior leadership, business units, and market finance teams to ensure effective cost management and financial performance.

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. It is imperative that you are a skilled leader who can influence senior management, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with financial governance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own the budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of Opex across Group entities
• Ensure alignment of Opex spending with strategic objectives and financial targets
• Prepare and present regular Opex reports, including variance analysis, to senior management
• Manage the redistribution of centralized Group and Vendor costs to Markets
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and other departments to identify and realize cost efficiencies
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all Opex activities
• Support internal and external audit queries related to Opex
• Act as the primary point of contact for Opex-related matters across the organization
• Provide financial guidance and support to Markets and business unit finance teams

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounts, Economics, Banking Finance, Business Administration or related field
• 5+ years management accounting and/or reporting experience
• ACCA/ ACA certification is preferred
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to articulate progress, issues and recommendations in a concise manner

• Attention to detail, high standards of accuracy and consistency in data, and efficient identification and resolution of issues
• Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate high energy, a strong work ethic, flexibility, a relentless customer-focus and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Previous Business Partner experience preferred
• Highly Advanced Excel Modelling
• Advanced use of financial systems (e.g. Oracle, Workday, SAP)
