Garage Supervisor

A garage located in Kingston is seeking a dedicated and experienced Garage Supervisor to join their team and oversee the daily operations of thei garage. If you have a passion for the automotive industry and possess excellent leadership skills, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the daily duties of the garage area, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Supervise Technicians: Lead and supervise a team of both junior and senior technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Delegate Duties: Assign tasks to members of the technician team based on their skills and workload.
  • Communication: Advise the front office team about the status of vehicles and communicate any issues or updates.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain a daily log of all vehicles worked on and all parts used.
  • Recruitment and Training: Engage in recruiting, hiring, and training new technicians to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  • Tool Management: Ensure that all tools are signed out and returned after use daily.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Keep the workspace clean, tidy, and organized on a daily basis.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe and organized workplace, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with sales representatives to determine client automotive requirements and communicate any vehicular defects or problems.
  • Test Driving: Ensure vehicles are test-driven before and after jobs to identify and resolve any noise or vibration issues.
  • Quality Control: Ensure customer vehicles are properly fitted and inspected before leaving the shop.
  • Issue Resolution: Liaise with the Managing Director on any immediate issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry with prior mechanical experience.
  • Team Player: Demonstrates the ability to work well with a team and lead by example.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
