RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE NURSING CARE SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE REGION ARE ORGANISED TO PROVIDE THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY CARE IN AN EFFICIENT MANNER.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
GENERAL MANAGER, NURSING SERVICES
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the Nursing Care Services throughout the Region are organised to provide the delivery of quality care in an efficient manner. To develop, ensure, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and programmes/activities aimed at ensuring that the nursing practice remains current with established standards and protocol.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, assess and review the management systems, policies and procedures for the delivery of Nursing Services.
- Ensure that the maintenance of professional standards of care are within the nursing council’s code of professional conduct and nursing regulations.
- Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the deployment and management of nursing personnel.
- Identify and advise on training needs for nursing personnel arising from initiatives taken at both strategic and operational levels.
- Advise on changes in nursing practice to ensure the most cost-effective use of trained nursing and support staff.
- Compile statistical reports and other performance metrics as required.
- Conduct primary research to inform policy formulation and strategic decisions of the Authority.
- Participate in the management of client feedback.
- Participate in addressing Customer Relationship Complaints based on the Patients Charter.
- Collaborate with other managers in the development of strategic plans and operational objectives.
- Ensure that all nursing personnel are registered and licensed to practice their profession.
- Develop and present annual budgets for the overall Nursing span of control.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the appropriate organisational relationship.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Health Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or any health related discipline.
- Advance level of proficiency in computer applications.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Experience in developing, leading and monitoring complex projects that involve multidisciplinary teams.
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of Trinidad & Tobago.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years practical nursing experience, of which five (5) years must be at a senior nursing managerial/supervisory level.
*Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.
