JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for implementing Maintenance and asset management systems and procedures and for ensuring regular maintenance is performed. To ensure the reliability for he following groups of fixed assets;
- Fleet
- Light Motor Vehicles
- Heavy trucks
- Forklifts
- Plant equipment
- Scaffolding
- Tools & Equipment
- Land and Building
Responsible for the continuous running of Fleet, equipment and machinery with the goal to produce high quality products that meet TTBS standards. The Fixed Asset Maintenance engineer serves as a key technical resource for the manufacturing operation focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for the fleet and all electronic/mechanical equipment in the plant
Oversee and supervise the following team of seven (7) personnel:
I. Fleet: Two (2) In House Mechanics
II. Equipment: One (1) In House Mechanical Supervisor
III. Scaffolding: One (1) Supervisor and Two (2) Riggers
IV. Tools & Equipment: One (1) Inventory personnel
V. Land & Building: One (1) Maintenance personnel
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weekly reports on the status of the fixed assets
- Planning and execution of the preventative maintenance programs of the Fixed Asset List. Improve the reliability of the equipment.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to machine operators in all aspects of their work.
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, and then supervising a third party maintenance team.
- Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults.
- Supervising engineering and technical staff.
- Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
- Managing budgets within the related field of work.
- Maintaining statistical and financial records within the related field of work.
- Ensuring compliance with TTBS standards
- Maintaining maintenance reports
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BS Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Three to Five years of experience working with electrical, electronic and mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to solve problems via advanced technical knowledge, complex analysis and theory testing.
- A record of success in implementing lean manufacturing concepts for continuous improvement.
- Ability to trouble shoot, fix and maintain equipment, keeping machines in excellent condition. Strong attention to detail and skilful in handling small parts.
- Ability to train operators in good operating procedures.
- Experience with spending most of the time on the manufacturing floor.
