FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant, who will be responsible for managing the working capital functions, as well as play an integral role in the timely preparation of the Company’s monthly financial reports and statements.
Core Functions:
Preparing financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, monthly financial reporting and analysis, forecasts and budgets.
- Coordinate the monthly financial closing exercise, ensuring that the department meets all reporting deadlines and provide essential insights into the Company’s financial health.
Treasury and Accounts Payables management
- Manage the Cash Book and banking transactions, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable function (local and foreign), ensuring the timely reconciliation of supplier statements and alignment between the Accounts Payables Sub-Ledger and the General Ledger.
Gathering, monitoring and analyzing financial data
- Conduct internal audits, ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations; support the Company’s financial decision-making by providing pertinent information.
- Manage the accrual process in keeping with accounting standards and ensure that monthly journals are posted promptly and accurately.
- Conduct and coordinate cost and revenue analyses, to include all General Ledger accounts, within the specified timelines.
- Maintain documentation, records and support for financial transactions.
Managing tax payments
- Responsible for the timely preparation and filing of statutory tax returns in accordance with government regulations.
- Provide assistance during external and tax audit exercises.
General
- Provide support to other members of the Accounting team and other departments, as needed.
Minimum Requirement: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Studies, Business Administration or its equivalent or have attained a minimum of Level 2 of the ACCA designation.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a senior accounting role; expert knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems/software, experience with Oracle ERP would be an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel.
- Mature and responsible individual with strong initiative, analytical skills and judgment to handle assignments independently.
- Demonstrates a high level of customer relations skills with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent human relations, communication (oral and written), time management, organizational, critical thinking, documentation and problem solving skills.
- Highly professional, confidential, ethical and of integrity.
- May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands
