Driver/Handy Man

Ensure the efficient and timely collection and delivery of items to support the operations and perform basic handyman tasks. Adhere to the assigned routes, schedules and tasks to keep daily operations on track. Class 4 permit required.

Summary:

Ensure the efficient and timely collection and delivery of items to support the operations of the Company and perform basic handyman tasks. Adhere to the assigned routes, schedules and tasks to keep daily operations on track. Required to operate a motor vehicle with appropriate license and maintain a regular schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
• Perform timely deliveries of items to and from assigned locations.
• Carefully load and off load items at each destination point.
• Keep accurate and complete detailed records pertaining to all pick-ups and deliveries.
• Adhere to the company’s cash/payment handling policies and procedures.
• Respond to customer requests for collection and or deliveries.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Perform basic preventative vehicle maintenance checks before, during and after operation of the vehicle including but not limited to all fluids, breaks, tire pressure and safety checks.
• Maintain forms and records pertaining to vehicle operation.
• Maintain the cleanliness of interior and exterior of assigned vehicle.
• Perform tasks related to basic construction and maintenance (including, but not limited to, painting, carpentry, plumbing, sanitation, repairs, etc.).
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.

• Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to prioritize tasks, organize daily activity and to be able to multi-task projects/tasks. Able to allocate time efficiently.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
• Ability to work in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Education/Skills

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent Organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge navigating tasks and processes using technology
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance

Experience

• Previous driving courier experience preferred
• Exceptional driving record

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Certificate of good character required
• Valid drivers license. Drivers permit Class 4 required
• Defensive driver certification

Work Schedule:

Fulltime on a rotational shift. TT$5,000 per month.
