JOB SPECIFICATION

Overview of Role:

The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales operations processes, tools, and systems to ensure the sales team operates efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing sales data, ensuring accurate reporting, streamlining processes, and providing strategic insights to support the sales leadership team. The Director of Sales will play a critical role in driving the overall success of the sales organization by enabling the sales team to focus on selling and achieving their targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales operations, sales management, or a related role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Team Jamaica Certified.
  • Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry is a plus

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, and refine sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure sales processes align with company goals and are scalable as the organization grows.
  • Oversee the administration and optimization of sales-related tools.
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure systems are integrated and functioning correctly.
  • Train sales team members on the effective use of tools and systems.
  • Manage sales data and ensure data integrity across all sales systems.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide sales leadership with actionable insights.
  • Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern.
  • Support the sales leadership team in developing accurate sales forecasts.
  • Assist in the creation and management of sales quotas and compensation plans.
  • Provide analytical support during the sales planning process to ensure realistic goal-setting.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Finance, and Product teams to ensure alignment on sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales team and other departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Manage the design and administration of sales compensation plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payout of sales commissions.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of incentive programs and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Document all sales processes and procedures.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for new sales hires and ongoing education for the sales team.
  • Lead and manage sales operations projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

AUTHORITY TO:

  • Recommend disciplinary action in conjunction with HR against any staff according to the organization’s disciplinary code.
  • Implement company business processes in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Adjust direction and focus as required towards achieving company KPIs.
