Data Entry Clerk

Location: Port of Spain and Remote

Employment Type- Shot term contract 6 Months

Salary: TT$4,000.00 neg

Experience/Qualifications

 

Formal

5 O’ Level General Proficiency, Grades 1-2 inclusive Mathematics, English Language, and Accounts.   In pursuit of Accounting Certification ACCA - Level I/II or in pursuit of an Degree in Accounting.  Basic Accounting experience and/or  knowledge is required.

IT

Extensive working knowledge of all MS Office components is a must. Previous experience with accounts packages is preferable though not essential, as training will be given.

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position

Accounting experience essential.

 

Personal Qualities

This person should be a self-motivating, team player with strong organisation abilities and good communication skills.  The individual should be flexible and able to grasp new ideas and techniques of working.  Must respect confidentiality. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Processing of vendor invoices & service reports into GP (Great Plains) – matching vendor invoices with POs and following up on any outstanding POs
  2. Follow up with FMs for verification of invoices.
  3. Answer phones and assist with supplier queries.
  4. Review and reconcile supplier statements.
  5. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Chief Accountant.
  6. The Chief Accountant reserves the right to change these responsibilities with reasonable notice at any time.

 

HSE responsibilities:

Employees are responsible for ensuring that all operations are carried-out in accordance with the specified procedures and work practices, ensuring that safety equipment is used as necessary and instructions followed, ensuring that all work is carried out with minimum impact on the environment.

  • Employees must always keep alert if they are working in the vicinity of operating plant and tools, and never attempt to operate a machine unless trained and authorized to do so
  • Every employee must take reasonable care for the safety and health of himself, and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work
  • Every employee must use correctly the personal protection clothing or devices provided for his use
  • Every employee shall ensure that he is not under the influence of an intoxicant to the extent that he is in such a state, as to endanger his own safety, health or welfare at work, or that of any other person
  • Employees must report all accidents involving injury, however slight, to the Supervisor. Details of an accident necessitating first aid treatment should be entered on the relevant accident reporting form
  • Employees must participate in JSAs, safety meetings / training sessions and tool box talks.
