Overview: Our client is an I.T Solutions and Customer-Oriented Technology Group. With a wide range of services, they provide corporate clients with top-of-the-line products to provide tailor-made systems and tools for customers in different fields across Central America, Miami, Colombia & The Caribbean. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to work from the Suriname offices.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

· A Data Center Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves working with various hardware and software systems, monitoring data center operations, and addressing issues promptly to maintain the seamless operation of services.

 

· Design and Implementation: Plan and design data center infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and cooling systems. Deploy and configure hardware and software to meet organizational needs. Ensure scalability and flexibility to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.

 

· Maintenance and Management: Monitor data center performance, including power, cooling, and network connectivity. Perform regular maintenance and updates to hardware and software. Manage data center inventory and documentation, ensuring accurate records of configurations and changes.

 

· Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve technical issues related to data center operations. Provide support for system outages, hardware failures, and other critical incidents. Collaborate with IT and support teams to address user and system issues.

 

· Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect data center assets and information. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, HIPAA, GDPR). Conduct regular security assessments and audits.

 

· Optimization and Efficiency: Analyze and optimize data center performance to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Implement energy-efficient practices and technologies. Monitor and manage capacity planning to ensure resources are used effectively.

 

· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center operations, procedures, and configurations. Prepare and present reports on data center performance, incidents, and metrics.

 

· Training and Support: Provide training and support to the sales team on technical aspects of the products or services. Stay informed about updates and changes to the product portfolio.

 

· Liaise with support units for specific technical information.

 

· Driving the team effort for supplier and other seminars

 

· Assist with planning and coordinating partner events.

 

· Attending supplier training for specific technology areas and webinars.

 

· Attending department, Customer, and Supplier meetings or events.

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications:


● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

● 3+ years of experience in data center operations or a related IT field.

● Experience with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools and monitoring systems.

● Proficiency in server, storage, and network hardware and software.

● Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong influencing skills.

● Strong decision-making skills

● Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills.

● Negotiation, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
