Preparation of customs documentation and to ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
• Knowledge of the Ace and Asycuda programs for both import and export.
Knowledge of the Navi system will also be an asset.
• Maintains working knowledge of import and export laws and regulations
• Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin and cargo-control
documents.
• Interact with Customs, import carriers and domestic carriers to arrange for coordinated handling of product from source to
delivery.
• Complete other tasks or duties assigned by customs manager to ensure effective and efficient operation of the
department.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
• Minimum of 5 CXC O’Level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
• Customs Clerk Grade 2 License
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
• At least 3 years’ experience in similar position
• Should have a valid driver’s permit and be able to drive a manual vehicle
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Must be a team player and be able to communicate well with others.
