The Judicial Service Commission of the Turks and Caicos Islands invites applications for the position of: 

Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must:

1. be qualified for appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court in Turks and Caicos Islands as set out under section 77(4) of the Constitution of the Turks and Caicos Islands, to wit, he/she must be at least ten years standing as:

(a)   a barrister or solicitor of the United Kingdom, of any other part of the Commonwealth, or of Ireland;

(b)   a member of the Faculty of Advocates or a Writer to the Signet of Scotland; or

(c)   an attorney of the Supreme Court admitted under the Legal Profession Ordinance or under any law for the time being in force in the Islands making like provision, 

             and

           2. hold or has held high judicial office.

DURATION OF APPOINTMENT

A five (5) year appointment extendable by mutual agreement. 

The Court of Appeal hears appeals in three or four sessions every year. Each session is usually three weeks long and the court may hear appeals virtually.

Applicants must submit:

1.         A completed application form.

2.         A resume with current contact information.

3.         An accompanying Cover Letter.

4.         Two letters of reference.

5.         Copies of educational certificates.

6.         A copy of the Passport photo page.

Shortlisted candidates must submit a Police Certificate.
